Dawn Eden |
Back in my catechist days, I read with glee
The Thrill of the Chaste: Finding Fulfillment While Keeping Your Clothes On, by
Dawn Eden, born into a Reform Jewish household, who began writing
about rock music under the abbreviated name Dawn Eden in 1985, eventually
becoming a popular-music historian. In 1999, Eden had a "born-again"
experience that led her to become a Protestant Christian. She worked as a copy
editor at the New York Post from early 2002 to January 2005, but was forced to
leave after edits she made to a story about in vitro fertilization revealed her
pro-life sympathies.
In 2006, Eden was received into the Roman CatholicChurch. Her The Thrill of the Chaste
was published that December. Since coming into the Mystical Body of Christ,
Dawn has published a new edition of her original work, styled “the Catholic edition.”
Here is a fascinating interview with Dawn, whom I have met and is a
hard-working laborer in the Lord’s vineyard.
